McKirdy has been involved in broad aviation aftermarket services for over 30 years with a focus and experience in executive management, operational excellence, and strategic sales.

McKirdy's most recent role was Chief Commercial Officer at Wencor Group, LLC. Previously, McKirdy was with Air Canada in a variety of leadership roles, including P&L responsibility for the Engine Maintenance Centre and Eastern Operations for Airframe Maintenance. He has an MBA from The John Molson School of Business- Concordia University, Montreal Canada.

As the Director of Operations, he will provide operational oversight of on-wing and off-wing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting at the Davie, Florida engine shop ensuring continuous production of services is consistent with established standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Expanding its Shop Capacity to Support Growing Demand for GTF PW1000G Series and LEAP 1A and/1B Engine Models
Davie, Florida – May 6, 2021 – Vortex Aviation, the global On-Wing and quick-turn turbine engine repair organization announced the induction of the first Pratt and Whitney Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) PW1130G-JM engine at its new Davie, Florida US facility. The induction of the GTF PW1000G series engine adds to the capabilities of the Vortex facility including LEAP 1A/1B, CFM56, IAE, V2500, CF6-80, and other commercial jet engines.
Vortex relocated to the new 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art engine maintenance facility in the fall of 2020. As a result of this expansion, Vortex Aviation is now able to maximize its capacity to support the entire next-generation of narrow-body fleet of A320 NEOs and 737 MAX, plus regional fleets such as the A220, E190, E2/E195-E2 powered by GTF while continuing to support the older generation of turbine engines.
Vortex maintains its long-running certification approvals as a licensed quick-turn engine service and repair shop to support major OEM engine models such the CFM, GE, Roll Royce, IAG and PW. Vortex will continue to provide full-service support to operators, owners, and lessors with the same responsive and cost-effective standards for which it has been known for within the industry.

Davie, Florida – April 13, 2021 – Kellstrom Aerospace (5AA19), a global commercial aftermarket OEM Distribution leader providing a comprehensive range of aircraft lifecycle solutions, is proud to announce an aftermarket partnership with Electroid (16554), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Valcor Engineering Corporation (96487) to offer a 100% yield overhaul exchange program for OEM Air Separation Module (ASM) Part Number 2030157-102, which is the original equipment installed on production Boeing 737NG aircraft manufactured after 2008. The Air Separation Module is an integral component of the On-Board Inert Gas Generator System (OBIGGS) for fuel tank inerting to protect against explosions by sources of ignition such as electrical shorts, bonding failures, mechanical failures of fuel pumps and lightning protection.
